Well what can i say? Yellow Bird was lovely - the fact that it was friendly people who looked after you and nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely be back - I have already looked for next year! Three cheers for Yellow Bird from yourself to reception, bar, cleaning and groundsman. Please tell Rosalind Marcey misses her friendly chat in the morning hope to see you all soon with more of my family next time!

We will be back.

We had a wonderful time and everyone at Yellow Bird was so happy and helpful. We would definitely stay there again. The room was clean and spacious enough for two adults and two older children. The kitchenette made meals easy. The view is beautiful and calming; and the location fun - can get busy at night but the one way street keeps vehicular traffic to a minimum making it a fun stroll from shops to restaurants etc. Bus stops, mini markets and beaches are all within walking distance too.

Great Location In St. Lawrence Gap Area With Good Service

We stayed in the deluxe building right next to Yellow Bird mains hotel (its owned by the Yellow Bird). There are only two apartments in this deluxe building for rent, one up and one down and everything is practically brand new in them. Each unit has two bedrooms. We loved sitting out on the patio, watching the sun set and and talking to people as they walked by (we were in the bottom unit). The only down side to this hotel is that its not right on the beach but the Sea across the street is beautiful (what a great view to wake up to!) and a nice swimming beach is just a short 10 minute walk away. The front desk helped us book activities, negotiate cab fares, and the bar and wait staff gave us some good recommendations of places to go. And when making the hotel reservations on line, Geeta, was super responsive and followed up on emails right away. I know the main hotel is a little older and the rooms are not updated like the units in the deluxe building but from everyone we talked to, the rooms were fine and maybe guests were repeat visitors-- they are less expensive than the deluxe building and youre not in your room much anyways. Their pool is small and not too many people hung out there--why would you with beautiful beaches just a short walk or ride away? Wed strongly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again if we came to Barbados--great location--able to walk to lots of things and we didnt find it to be noisy inside with the doors closed.

I wanted to let you know that my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the yellow bird everything about the hotel made our experience in Barbados even better. I have to say your staff, especially on reception, are a real asset to you and are helpful, friendly and were a pleasure to speak with. The rooms and pool area were immaculately clean and the location was ideal for us, so I wanted to pass this on.

I hope one day to return to Barbados and the Yellow Bird will be the first hotel I check availability on, and I will recommend it to anyone thinking of coming over.

Thank you again,
James

As far as our stay at the Yellow Bird, we keep telling our friends what a terrific find it was and how much we enjoyed it. The location was absolutely perfect and so interesting...we spent a lot of time sitting on our balcony watching the action below....we would count the boats when we got up in the morning to see how many were out fishing, we would watch them come back in with their catch and also would watch the older man who was net fishing in the bay. We were lucky enough to see the monkeys early one morning from our balcony as they scrambled around on the roof of the restaurant closer to the church. After taking the bus to sitesee around the island, we would come "home" to our cozy, clean, breezy room, change into our swim suits and go for a nice long wade in that lovely warm water. Being able to walk right out onto the beach from our hotel room was soooo nice....we are so looking forward to going back. I shouldn't forget to mention the very friendly and helpful staff. Also, the free internet was such a plus as we could keep in touch with family friends and current events....it added so much to our holiday as well.

Hi all @ the Yellow Bird,
Well we are back to reality now in Canada and we are already missing our balcony with the most gorgeous view ever and of course the stunning sunsets. The staff were what we were most impressed with as they really made us feel welcome and at home and would do anything to accomodate us. We would like to personally thank Margaret,Monique,Marcina,Sonja,Sylvester and Dale. Geeta you know how to hire some really great guest service people. The hotel is spotless and the grounds are kept immaculate. The pool is always clean and the restaurant has delicious food. The location is superb and the front beach is very nice and handy with just the right amount of wave action so as not to be intimidated by the surf. I love that we could just sit on our balcony and watch the local fisherman prepare for their catch and also to watch the world go by. We will definitely be back and have already told many people about your great place. Until we meet again...

04/Mar/2010
We found the location perfect, close to everything in the Gap but just far enough away from the clubs which play loud music.

The hotel and rooms were clean, tidy and spacious with a fantastic view. All the staff were extremely helpful. We would definitely stay again.

My only recommendation for improvements would be a full size bath or a more powerful shower and possibly an in room safe, although the deposit boxes in reception always had easy access.

23/Feb/2010
Geeta, the location was absolutely perfect for us. We have stayed in the Gap before, however in a more central location, and I do prefer the location of the Yellow Bird Hotel.

Our goal is to some day save money to stay in your new facilities beside the Yellow Bird--absolutely top notch beautiful, and we thank you for the personal tour of that location.

You also have the most accommodating and friendly staff I have experienced to date. What a GEM you have in Sonia! It was a real pleasure to see her each day...she would apologize for not getting to us sooner on some days, explaining how busy her day had been, yet still take the time to quickly chat and share a laugh or two with us. We really enjoyed seeing her everyday.

Our room on the ground floor was very comfortable and convenient and although there were inconveniences for the first several days, you and your staff did the utmost to ensure they were fixed. They tried very hard to rectify the issues as quickly as possible, and still keep a friendly nature about them. That is most appreciated, as I've experienced staff and owners that become "less friendly and social" after repeated issues are reported.

Your customer service in all regards will not go unnoticed for future references and choices we make. In essence, it is not the fact that there were problems, it is HOW those problems were handled by you, your husband, and your staff and you deserve top ratings for that.

18/Feb/2010
We are still floating on air from our wonderful stay in Barbados. My husband and I returned to about 2 feet of snow and everyone around us seems very stressed and we are still walking around checking our tans out and smiling. We absolutely have nothing to complain about as far as the Yellow Bird is concerned and had another relaxing and wonderful visit to Barbados.

In addition, we met some great guests at your hotel which we enjoyed on many nights by the pool. People who have never been to Barbados will always ask "what is it you like so much?" We always give the same answer. We wake up every morning to one of the most beautiful views in Barbados and go to sleep with one of the most beautiful views in Barbados. Save me a room for next year I'm sure I'll be booking again.

17/Feb/2010
The Yellow Bird will always be special and the only place we stay when we are on vacation. Your staff as well as the complex is totally amazing, combined with the service offered by the Flying Fish makes a truly wonderful place to chill out an relax.

Spent 8 days at the Yellow Bird with my girlfriend, son and his girlfriend. For the price you could not ask for a better place. We stayed in one of the suite's and it worked out great. The food at the Flying Fish is as good or better than some of the fine dining resteraunts that we went to and a lot cheaper. Great location to the Gap and walking distance to nice beachs etc... If you dont like the late night music ask for a room a little further away from the gap. Thanks for all your help when I was planning this trip.

13/Nov/2009
I have stayed at The Yellowbird at least three times in the past six months, and all three stays I found to be excellent. The front desk staff were always helpful, ready to give me few pieces of printer paper or suggest I try the bar for a complimentary drink, or to call a taxi for me. The rooms in the main hotel are completely adequate (not spectacular, though the location is if you are interested in St. Lawrence Gap), the air conditioner works great. And, on my last stay I was upgraded to a new suite. What a set of rooms! The banana pancakes are the best I've ever had, and I've had plenty of pancakes. Coffee's good too!

13/Nov/2009
I travel to Barbados every year on vacation and have previously stayed at several different Hotels in the St Lawrence Gap area...The Yellow Bird is the best kept secret on the Island. The location is perfectly located near the main road which takes you to Oistins and Bridgetown. The restaurant "The flying fish" has great food and service. The entire staff are quite pleasant and helpful at all times...They make you feel home, away from home. The staff at the Yellow Bird, including security, are the greatest on the Island. The pool was under repairs but I had the entire ocean just across the street. The sunset is a memorable and picturious experience. Nightlife, dining, banks, casinos, and convenient stores are a stones throw away, not to exclude a golf course.

13/Nov/2009
I work in the travel industry therefore, I made the acomodations for myself and 7 friends traveling to BGI to celebrate my 30th birthday. Everyone raved about our accomodations. My companions ages ranged from 26 to 43 and everyone was equally happy.

Me, my sister, aunt

27/Oct/2009
It was wonderful! The suite was incredible and we couldn't have asked for a better location...walking distance to all the restuarants, nightclubs and Dover Beach. All of my friends raved about the accomodations. In addition to
that, the front desk staff was so pleasant and helpful throughout our stay we sometimes felt that they were solely dedicated to just helping us make the most of our trip. I didn't want to return home. I've been
raving to everyone about the property and its location. I have hopes of returning next year with my boyfriend.

24/Sep/2009
Thank you for arranging everything for us at the Yellow Bird, we had a fantastic time as always. Please pass on my thanks to everyone who works there, they are all so lovely and helpful, you could not ask for better employees, the ladies that tidied our room always had a smile on their faces and were so friendly and cheerful. All the girls on reception have a fantastic sense of humour and nothing is too much trouble for them.

It was my partner Lee's first time in Barbados and he now has fallen in love with it too!!! He has never been on holiday to somewhere that is so welcoming. We can't wait to come back in February!

31/Aug/2009
My wife and I recently stayed at the Yellow Bird hotel, and we can honestly say that we would recommend this hotel to anyone in the World.

The staff is exeptionally genuine, helpful, courteous and friendly. They are always available to assist with any inquiries.

Apart from that, the location is the absolute best. With easy access to the beaches. Dining in the restaurant with exceptional view of a cove is something you must experience.

Thanks to all the staff at the Yellow Bird hotel, for making our vacation such a wonderful experience.

We were all very impressed with the deluxe two-bedroom two bathroom suite / with private roof deck & parking in front.

The view of St Lawrence Bay & being close to night Clubs & Restaurants !!!! Your Flying Fish Restaurant w/ Steel Pan Music & Flying Fish special was the best & most tender flying fish meal we have had anywhere in Barbados!!! Your whole staff were very helpful & kind !!! The free tickets to Ship Inn made our nite for live entertainment on a Barbados Holiday able not to stand in long line !!!

This trip was wonderful & it was because we found the perfect place to stay Yellow Bird Hotel in Barbados.

Thank You So Very Much!

12/May/2009
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Yellow Bird. We had a great time in Barbados and hope to return in the near future. The weather was great, it was hard leaving the nice warm weather to return to Canada. This morning our weather was 1 degree Celsius and our high for today by 2:00 PM should be 15 degrees Celsius.

Oh how I miss the ocean view and the sound of the waves.

Take care and thanks the girls again for us for all their help.

Until the next time.

30/Apr/2009
Well me and my boyfriend have just returned (very depressed) from our trip to barbados where we stayed with you guys, and well we couldn't have been happier with our accomodation!
The staff are always so helpful, we could ask anything and they'd do their best to help us. Especially as we were barbados virgins!
We had the best holiday we could of wished for and we'd like to thank YellowBird for all their help!

Last year I spent celebrated the final week of crop over at the yellow bird hotel located in the heart of the St. Lawrence GAP. The staff, restaurant and room were all great. Although, the hotel is located between two club we enjoyed listening to the music into the wee hours of the night.Once crop-over was completed the GAP became alot quieter and we actually missed her all the reggae. Can't wait to get back. My sister is heading there right now.

The yellowbird was perfect for our stay. It was a great location with an amzing view. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the Self Catering facilities were the best i'd come across and it was cleaned daily with new towels. The noise was only a problem on 2 nights and these were at the weekend. Oh and it was reported in the newspaper on the day we left that the police are clamping down on the noise in the area, so even better! All in all a wonderful stay, thankyou!!

This was the 1st time we had stayed at The Yellow Bird but it definitely wont be our last!! Cleanliness - second to none, clean towels & sheets everyday. Reception staff - very friendly & helpful. Night door man (wears glasses) - brilliant.I had read some reports on Trip Advisor about the level of noise from the nearby clubs & was a little concerned that we had made the wrong choice, on the nights we were in bed at a reasonable hour (not many) the noise did not interfere with our sleep, all I can say to these people is when in Barbados get a life!

This is my second time to stay at the Yellow Bird. Three years ago, I simpy chose it at random as a place to spend one night in transit to St. Vincent. I selected it then because it was reasonably close to the airport (about 15 minutes) and price.
I liked it so I came back again because of the location (not only near the airport, but in the center of lots of activities such as restaurants and night life), price and a very friendly and attentive staff. The hotel has its own restaurant , the Flying Fish, which is also very good. Our large room included a kitchen and a balcony overlooking the swimming pool and beach.
I think the Yellow Bird offers a lot of value for the price and I will definitely stay there again.

I have just got back from Barbados after spending 2 fantastic weeks with my two friends at the Yellow Bird Hotel.

The hotel is situated near the main road so it's easy to get to the buses and other beaches - Every single bus is just $1.50 BBDS - you cant beat that! Try out the Reggae buses they are an experience!

The staff are brilliant. They will do anything to help you and are always there with a smile. The room was cleaned spotlessly everyday - couldnt fault it. The room has a fridge freezer, microwave, cooker, utensils etc. There is also a convenience store just down the Gap.

The Flying Fish Restaurant and bar which is based there has the best two chefs on the island - Jose and Troy! Also a big hello to Monique, Rose, Candice, young Troy - our handyman, Michelle, Cheryl Ann, Nicole and all the other staff that made us feel so welcome.

I wouldnt advise this hotel for children as you do get noise from Jumbies and the Reggae Lounge at around 8pm, which they are working on but it wasn't a problem at all. If you want to
take kids I suggest going to the other hotels at the other end of the Gap.

We had an Ocean Front view room which is the best view I have ever had from any hotel - waking up to that every morning was like being in paradise.

The people of Barbados are warm and friendly. I want to say a big hello to Birdman who has a stall opposite the hotel selling all sorts - he was great!

I want to reccommend a lounge bar called Pravda just next to the Hotel. Very classy and very different to the other clubs on the Gap - playing everything from Funky House to Rare Groove soul - wicked! Hi Paul!

There is so much more I could tell you but you need to go and find out for yourself. I will definitely be going back to this hotel next year.
(looking for deals now!)

19/Nov/2007
My sister Tina and I just got back from Barbados on Wednesday, had a fab time.
The hotel we stayed in was the Yellow Bird Hotel feet from the beach, gorgeous white sand and turquoise sea mmmmm. to be there again! The hotel was great, very very clean, cleaned every day and really cleaned I mean!! Fresh sheets and towels, washed floors, nothing was to much for them. The staff were fantastic so cheerful, and very polite. It also has a swimming pool, cleaned everyday too.

The restaurant underneath our hotel was great, lovely food, anything you wanted you would get with a big smile and a "your very welcome", and Rodericks cocktails are to die for! They were also very helpful as to where to go in the evenings. This was only a 3*hotel but should have been 4* .

This hotel is great for couples or mates holidaying together but not for families with young children 'cause its right in the heart of St Lawrence gap and noisy with the night club/bars very near.

It was lovely waking up in the morning, hearing the waves break on the shore, and seeing the Bajan oldies fishing with their nets that they carried on their shoulders. Although we didn't go scuba diving, there are a few schools that used our pool and we watched them go out on the boat to use there newfound skills. We also saw young lads bringing back huge Marlin fish whilst eating our breakfast feet from the sea.

We'd definately go again, we loved it! You won't be sorry!

22/Oct/2007
We had a WONDERFUL time in
Barbados and a fabulous time at your property.

We will return to The Yellow Bird because we can't wait to drink in that gorgeous view
again.

Please give your front-desk staff a big pat on the back. Michelle, Monique and Margaret are a huge asset to your Hotel. They are so friendly and made wonderful suggestions that enhanced our trip immensely.

We really enjoyed The Flying Fish too. Not only is the food great, but they
make a super Pina Colada!

Until next time,

18/Oct/2007
We had a fabulous time and will definately be back. They went the extra mile to answer our questions and inquire about various attractions on our behalf. The rooms were well equipped and clean. And the location was perfect !!! We raved to all of our family and friends that they must stay at the Yellow Bird when they visit Barbados. The staff was very friendly and accomodating.

06/Oct/2007
We are missing Barbados because we had a fantastic time and we cannot rate the Yellow Bird highly enough. I have been singing your praises to everyone who asks about our holiday.

From the time we arrived until we left, the staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I must particularly thank the lady who serviced our room during our stay. She kept the place spotless and I was impressed by the fact that linens and towels were changed daily. I have stayed in five star hotels and not had this. Special thanks also goes to Roderick in the bar for his lime margeritas. They were the best to be had in the Gap. Nobody else mixed them like Roderick. Our thanks also to the chef on duty the night that Hurricane Dean passed by as he cooked us take-away before the kitchen closed down for the night when most other places were closed.

The apartment itself was well appointed and had everything we could possibly need for our stay. I was lucky enough to be shown the penthouse and this was even more fantastic. We would definately consider this for our next stay.

I know that people say that the hotel can be noisy because of the music from the bars. But I can honestly say it never kept any of us awake and anyway if you stay in the Gap then you should expect it to be lively!.

Thanks again for wonderful time and hope to be booking to come again very soon.

I was recently in Barbados (8-22 to 8-25) and I stayed at your establishment in rooms 305 and 401.

This email is to reiterate the fact that you have an exceptional staff that made me really proud to be a Barbadian. They all took pride in their jobs and really went out of their way to make my stay very comfortable.

The employees at reception, housekeeping and the restaurant staff were all gracious and I felt like I really came home every day that I would return from my various outings. I have been living abroad for 30 years and on each visit my husband and I stayed on the West Coast. This was my first stay on the South Coast and because of the comfort level that I found at the Yellow Bird, I know that my future visits will be with you.

Again, congratulations to you and your staff. You are definitely doing something right and I think it should not be a secret, therefore, I will be sure to share this information with my friends who may want to visit Barbados as well.

I truly enjoyed my visit, and this is the first time in 30 years that I was remorseful about returning home to New Jersey. Specifically, Leroy and his other partner handled our luggage with such care. Monique and her crew at the front desk were extremely hospitable, and Icy, Cyrlene and Marcia in housekeeping did their best to keep our rooms immaculate. There are other employees that made an impact as well and I want to say thank you.

Please be sure to convey my thanks and gratitude for all they have done to make my stay an enjoyable one. Last but not least, Antonia Hinds the college student, was the first individual I dealt with when I made my reservations; and she did a great job in getting me to make my decision to stay at the Yellow Bird. Therefore, in closing, I wish to thank Antonia for her professionalism and the extra effort she made to ensure that I did not make any other inquiries regarding alternate accommodations after speaking to her on the telephone.

Thank you all and I do look forward to my next visit.

My friend and I booked this hotel as we won flights to Barbados, from the time we arrived to the time we had to leave (2 weeks) we had a great time staying at these self catering apartments, fantastic location in the heart of St Lawrence Gap and a stone's throw away from all the night life was a big bonus. Great location with restaurants and bars so nearby, the apartment was always cleaned and maintained in top notch condition with air conditioning, the staff were friendly and helpful at all times, we really had a good time and it was like home from home (without the sunshine!) and the cocktails made by our friendly barman, Roderick made our stay even more enjoyable, pina colada's were the best I've had!! Definitely would consider staying at Yellow Bird again, recommend it - only thing, bring a set of ear plugs if you intend on having a night in since the bars around can play loud music into the wee hours of the morning...overall I would recommend Yellow Bird.

have been coming to barbados for sometime now,but wanted to try another hotel, and chose yellowbird due to location, as i don't drive,on arrival the staff greeted me as though i was a celebrity, anything i asked for,if they did not know the answer right away they most definitely responded in a few minutes with an answer, everyone was so warm at all times, not once did they seem as though i was bothering them, even if was 2am in the morning, and guess what i would be there again this year for cropover......thanks guys again........see you when i get there......this time with my family........sincerely keiva sinclair/from bermuda

I have been to Barbados in 2004 and had stayed at another hotel. I decided to try the yellow bird hotel this year. I arranged the booking through contacting the hotel directly via email. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were treated well. We ( myself, my partner and two children ) were shown our room and also offered alternative rooms The room was nice and spacious and exceptionably clean and well maintained by the cleaners throughout the holiday period. All of the staff were genuinely polite and friendly. They were also very helpful in providing local information. I have stayed at several four and five star hotels in the UK, also i have stayed in hotels in Europe, south America, the Caribbean and Africa. I can safely say that the condition, cleanliness, maintenance of rooms and staff are comparable to the top hotels that i have stayed in. The room was spacious, air-conditioned and also had an overhead fan as an alternative to the ac, the bathroom was cleanly and the floor was spotless. the accommodation enhanced our overall enjoyment of the holiday. Would i recommend this in the future. Yes, definitely.

I recently returned from a stay at the Yellowbird. All of the Restaurant/Bar and Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. For example, the airline lost my checked bag, and they helped me contact the airline and put the bag in our room when it arrived late at night.

They also helped us get a rental car, which was the easiest process I have ever had (and I have stayed in Barbados many times). The Hotel is conveniently placed to walk anywhere in the Gap.

The pool is small but very clean and refreshing. The rooms have all the comforts (two double beds, table with 4 chairs, 2 closets and dressers, standard refrigerator, 4-burner stove with pots, pans, utensils and dishes, air condinitioner, full bathroom, sliding glass door to patio or balcony, etc.). It is conveniently placed next to nice restaurants and a dive shop.

However, the music from some of the nearby clubs can be heard occasionally at night. There was a mix of people, couples with children, etc., staying when we were there, and all seemed to be enjoying their stay."

Hi Geeta,

We had a wonderful time, the penthouse was amazing and I know for a fact
that everyone wishes we were still there and not back in England! We are
looking to try and book room 402 for my sister and Stephanie to have the
interlinking door with the Penthouse for our stay 1-8th September but I am
waiting to confirm with my sister as they want to come back too for my 30th
Birthday! Plus I may try to do a two week holiday then and extend it to the
17th Sept but will let you know as soon as I do.

I would also like to say that not only was the room cleaned immaculately
and the staff the most friendly I have ever met but also all of us agreed
that the service at the Yellow Bird to be far and above any other that we
have stayed in. Plus we all love Roderick the Barman! and everyone there!

Thank you so much for all your help,

I am looking forward to September already!

Thanks again

Andrea x
